Monel 400/K500 pipes are age -hardenable nickel-copper alloy. They have a useful composition of aluminum and titanium that stabilize their properties, such as corrosion resistance and high strength over high-temperature environments. Monel K500 Pipe is the redeveloped version of alloy 400 to improve corrosion resistance and enhance strength.
Monel K500 alloy has advantages such as two times yielding power and up to 3 times tensile strength by comparison to the alloy 400. Monel K500 can perform cold working operations before precipitation hardens. The mechanical properties of Monel K500 are also excellent from subzero temperature up to 480 degrees C.
Monel K500 performs extensively better at environments such as marine and chemical atmosphere including pure water to high oxidized mineral acids. Monel K500 shows non-magnetic properties and, therefore, should be welded to get annealed, then the weldments after that stress relieved before the aging.
